Cube + Interplanar Cuts = Lamp (2015)
A project I did for my Spring semester Spatial Dynamics class (RISD Freshman year, 2015). We first were made to cut a rectangle of clay five times straight across to create an internal shape. After a series of projects, we had to construct our interior shape using a frame and skin. I used dowels and fibrous paper to make this, and realized it worked well as a lampshade.
