A piece I did for my Spring semester Spatial Dynamics class (RISD Freshman year, 2015). The assignment was to create a box with preset proportions, but it had to tell a personal message. My message was about stress and expectations and how it could weigh someone down, so I made a box that was of the right proportions, but distorted in the middle. While working, I decided to suspend it and shine light through the box, which created a smokey light pattern on the walls behind. Thus my message changed to how beautiful things are born from stress, hard work, and expectations.
